Upon arrival at CancĂşn International Airport, we transfer to the laid-back beach town of Tulum.

Today we continue to the Belizean border—an exciting crossing that marks the beginning of
a completely new world. Belize welcomes us with its unique blend of Creole culture and Caribbean
charm. Colourful wooden houses on stilts, shady verandas lined with rocking chairs and the
country's distinctive language create an atmosphere unlike anywhere else in Central America.
Our journey continues to the beautifully situated Bird's Eye View Lodge, nestled on the shores
of Crooked Tree Lagoon. Upon arrival, we settle into our peaceful surroundings as the sounds of
the jungle fill the air—the perfect beginning to our Belize adventure.

After an early breakfast at the lodge, we set off for our first major highlight: Lamanai
Archaeological Reserve. By boat, we cruise for about an hour along the New River, gliding
past dense rainforest, colourful birdlife and, with a bit of luck, crocodiles basking along
the riverbank. The journey itself is an unforgettable experience.
Hidden deep within the jungle, the magnificent Maya city of Lamanai awaits.
We explore its impressive temples and ceremonial plazas before climbing the
towering High Temple, where spectacular views stretch across the endless rainforest canopy.
Along the way, our guide brings this ancient city to life with fascinating stories about
its history, beliefs and remarkable past.
In the afternoon, we return to Bird's Eye View Lodge for a short break before another
memorable nature experience awaits. As the day draws to a close, we paddle across the tranquil
waters of Crooked Tree Lagoon by canoe. Bathed in the warm glow of the setting sun, we watch
herons, ibises and, if fortune smiles upon us, the rare Jabiru stork. The peaceful
surroundings and the ever-changing colours reflected on the water create a truly magical atmosphere.
Back at the lodge, we end the day with a delicious dinner and a refreshing drink on the veranda,
accompanied by the sounds of the Belizean night.

After breakfast, we bid farewell to Crooked Tree Lagoon and continue to the Community Baboon Sanctuary.
Despite its name, this unique conservation area is actually dedicated to the protection of
Black Howler Monkeys, known locally as "baboons." During a guided walk through the reserve,
we learn about the monkeys' fascinating behaviour and discover how local communities play a
vital role in protecting their natural habitat.
Our journey then takes us to the Belize Zoo, a renowned wildlife rescue and rehabilitation
centre dedicated exclusively to Belize's native species. Here we encounter tapirs, jaguars,
toucans and many other remarkable animals that are often difficult to spot in the wild, all
housed in spacious, natural forest enclosures.
In the afternoon, we continue to Guanacaste National Park, a small but biologically rich
protected area of dense tropical forest and crystal-clear rivers. A short nature walk allows
us to appreciate the tranquillity of this beautiful landscape before we continue our journey.
By early evening, we arrive at our accommodation. Depending on the group size, we stay either
at the charming Green Valley Inn, surrounded by lush tropical gardens, or at Cahal Pech Resort,
offering wonderful views over the valley of San Ignacio. The rest of the day is yours to
relax—perhaps with a refreshing swim in the pool or a cool drink on the terrace.

Today we immerse ourselves in the remarkable cultural diversity of Belize. After breakfast,
we travel to Spanish Lookout, home to a Mennonite community that has embraced modern technology
and agriculture while preserving its strong traditions. Unlike the more conservative Old Order
Mennonites, this community combines innovation with a deep sense of faith and family values.
One of the day's highlights is a visit to the local village school, where teacher Lisa
introduces us to everyday school life and offers fascinating insights into education,
community values and the modern Mennonite way of life.
We then continue to the famous Hot Mama's Belize factory, where the country's legendary
habanero hot sauces are produced. During our visit, we learn about the wide range of
products before enjoying the best part—the tasting. From fruity and mildly spicy to
pleasantly fiery, we sample a variety of sauces, each with its own distinctive flavour and character.
In the afternoon, we travel to the Maya village of San Antonio, where an authentic cultural
experience awaits. Together with our local hosts, we prepare a traditional Maya meal
using fresh ingredients harvested from the garden. As we cook, we gain a genuine insight
into everyday life, culinary traditions and the warm hospitality that continues to shape Maya culture today.

Today promises a day of unforgettable discoveries deep in the heart of the Belizean rainforest.
Early in the morning, we set off for Caracol, the largest and most important Maya city in
Belize. Our journey takes us through the spectacular landscapes of the Mountain Pine Ridge
Forest Reserve, where winding roads lead through dense forests and dramatic mountain scenery.
Upon arrival, we explore the impressive temples, palaces and ceremonial plazas of this
once-powerful Maya metropolis. We climb to the summit of Caana ("Sky Palace"), the
tallest ancient structure in Belize, and are rewarded with breathtaking panoramic
views stretching across the endless rainforest canopy toward neighbouring Guatemala.
After enjoying a picnic lunch surrounded by nature, we continue to the beautiful
Rio On Pools. Here, crystal-clear water cascades over smooth granite rocks into a
series of natural pools, creating one of Belize's most idyllic swimming spots.
There is plenty of time to cool off beneath the small waterfalls, relax in the
refreshing water and soak up the tranquillity of this remarkable natural setting.

Saturday is market day in San Ignacio, offering a vibrant glimpse into everyday life in
Belize's Cayo District. Stalls overflow with tropical fruits, fragrant spices, handmade
snacks and locally crafted goods, while people from across the region gather to shop and socialise.
A particular highlight is the strong presence of the Mennonite community, whose stalls
are renowned for fresh vegetables, artisan cheeses, dairy products, honey and freshly baked goods.
We then continue to San José Succotz, where we cross the Mopan River aboard a hand-operated
cable ferry—an experience in itself—before arriving at the magnificent Maya site of Xunantunich.
Exploring its impressive temples and plazas offers a fascinating insight into the splendour
of the Classic Maya civilisation. Climbing El Castillo, the site's highest pyramid,
rewards us with sweeping views across the rainforest, winding rivers and into neighbouring
Guatemala. As we take in the scenery, the unmistakable calls of Black Howler Monkeys
often echo through the surrounding treetops.
In the afternoon, we slow the pace with a relaxing visit to the Macal River, where
locals gather to swim and unwind. There is time to enjoy the refreshing water and
soak up the peaceful atmosphere before rounding off the day at the beloved Sweet Things Café,

Our day begins at the Green Iguana Conservation Project in San Ignacio, where we
learn about the protection and rehabilitation of Belize's fascinating green iguanas.
We have the opportunity to observe these remarkable reptiles up close—an unforgettable experience and a wonderful opportunity for photography enthusiasts.
We then continue to the remote village of Gales Point Manatee, beautifully
situated on a narrow peninsula between a tranquil lagoon and the Caribbean Sea.
During a peaceful boat excursion through the lagoon, we keep watch for gentle
West Indian manatees, crocodiles and a variety of colourful waterbirds.
The untouched scenery and serene atmosphere make it easy to lose track of time.
In the afternoon, we visit the Belize Spice Farm & Botanical Gardens, where

This morning, we visit the remarkable Maya site of Lubaantun, famous for its unique dry-stone
construction, where the temples were built without the use of mortar. The site also gained
worldwide fame through the discovery of the legendary Crystal Skull, whose mysterious story
later inspired the Indiana Jones films. As we explore the ancient ruins, we learn about
the history and significance of this once-thriving Maya city.
Our journey then reveals the rich culinary and cultural traditions of southern Belize.
At Eladio's Farm, a traditional cacao plantation run by a third-generation Maya family,
we are welcomed by Eladio himself or a member of his family. Surrounded by cacao trees,
tropical fruit and medicinal plants, we discover every stage of chocolate production—from
harvesting and fermenting the cacao beans to roasting and grinding them. Naturally,
we also have the opportunity to create our own handmade chocolate—a delicious experience for all the senses.
In the afternoon, we immerse ourselves in the vibrant culture of the Garifuna community
in Punta Gorda. Our experience begins with an introduction to the traditional rhythms
that have shaped Garifuna identity for generations. Guided by experienced local musicians,
we learn the basics of Garifuna drumming, and those who wish can also join in the lively
Punta and Paranda dances. It is a joyful celebration of music, movement and community.
To round off the day, we take part in a traditional Garifuna cooking class, preparing
authentic dishes inspired by African and Caribbean culinary traditions while learning
about the ingredients, techniques and cultural heritage behind each recipe.

Today begins with a visit to the lesser-known yet fascinating Maya site of Lim Ni Punit,
peacefully surrounded by lush tropical vegetation. Here we explore beautifully carved
Maya stelae, whose inscriptions reveal stories of rulers, power and ancient religious ceremonies.
Far away from the crowds of the more famous archaeological sites, Lim Ni Punit offers a unique atmosphere
of tranquillity, allowing us to connect with the history and mysteries of the Maya world at our own pace.
We then continue to the traditional Mennonite community of Pine Hill in southern Belize, where
life follows a rhythm that feels worlds apart from modern society. Horse-drawn carriages replace cars,
simple farms blend into the surrounding landscape, and agriculture, craftsmanship and community
values shape daily life. Without electricity, traditional skills and self-sufficiency remain
central to this way of living. As we travel through the countryside, we respectfully observe
how faith, tradition and close community ties continue to define the Mennonite lifestyle.
In the afternoon, we visit a Maya women’s cooperative and gain a deeper insight into the
living traditions of contemporary Maya culture. In a warm and welcoming atmosphere, we discover
traditional handicrafts and learn about the meaning behind local materials, patterns and techniques.
A special highlight is the traditional pressing of fresh sugarcane using historic methods,
allowing us to taste its natural sweetness straight from the source. All proceeds from our
visit directly support the women’s cooperative, helping to preserve cultural knowledge
while strengthening the economic independence of the women and their community.

Today we venture into the heart of the Cockscomb Basin Wildlife Sanctuary, the world's
first designated jaguar reserve. Surrounded by dense rainforest, lush valleys and
cascading streams, we set out on an exciting jungle hike. Depending on weather
conditions and the group's interests, we explore one of the sanctuary's scenic trails,
such as the River Path, Rubber Tree, Curassow or Antelope Trail.
As we walk beneath the rainforest canopy, we listen to the sounds of the jungle
and keep our eyes open for colourful tropical birds, shimmering butterflies and
signs of wildlife. With a little luck, we may even discover fresh tracks of tapirs
or the elusive jaguar in the soft forest floor. Small streams and natural swimming
spots along the way invite us to cool off and enjoy the refreshing waters of the jungle.
In the early afternoon, we continue to the idyllic Placencia Peninsula, stretching
into the turquoise waters of the Caribbean Sea. Here we settle into a small, charming beach hotel just steps away from the ocean.
The evening is dedicated to pure Caribbean relaxation. Our tour leader invites us
for a cocktail at a lively reggae beach bar, where we enjoy the feeling of sand beneath
our feet, the sound of waves in the background and the irresistible rhythms of the Caribbean.

After so many adventures and discoveries, the next two days are dedicated to slowing down
and enjoying the beauty of the Caribbean. No alarm clocks, no schedules—just the sound

These days are yours to enjoy at your own pace. Relax on the beautiful beach,
read a good book beneath the palm trees or treat yourself to a soothing massage.
Those looking for a little more activity can take a leisurely beach walk, try
stand-up paddleboarding or explore nearby Placencia Village with its colourful houses, charming cafés and local craft shops.
In the evening, we come together again for dinner—perhaps with freshly caught fish,
tropical cocktails and our feet in the sand. The perfect opportunity to recharge,
share travel stories and simply enjoy the laid-back Caribbean lifestyle.
For those who wish to discover the underwater world of Belize, a full-day boat
excursion to the South Water Caye Marine Reserve is available as an optional activity.
One of the largest and most biodiverse marine protected areas in the Caribbean,
the reserve impresses with crystal-clear waters, colourful coral reefs and an
incredible variety of marine life. Spend the day snorkelling, exploring the
fascinating underwater world or simply enjoying the spectacular scenery from the boat.

This morning, we say goodbye to the relaxed Caribbean atmosphere of Placencia and begin our
journey north towards Mexico. Our route takes us through the lush green landscapes of
Belize’s countryside, passing small villages, tropical vegetation and the peaceful
scenery that has accompanied us throughout our adventure.
We cross the border into Mexico and continue towards Bacalar, a magical place famous
for its spectacular Lagoon of Seven Colours. The different shades of turquoise and blue,
created by varying depths and crystal-clear waters, make this one of the most beautiful natural wonders of the Yucatán Peninsula.
In the afternoon, we arrive at our destination and have time to enjoy the peaceful atmosphere
of this unique lagoon town. Perhaps we end the day with a farewell dinner overlooking the
water, reflecting on the many impressions and encounters of the past days—from ancient
Maya cities and tropical forests to Caribbean rhythms and unforgettable moments with local communities.
