Our morning begins at the lively Paloquemao Market, one of the city's most colourful and authentic

specialities, we discover the incredible diversity of Colombian produce—and, of course, enjoy
tasting some of the country's exotic fruits along the way.
Next, we visit the world-renowned Gold Museum (Museo del Oro), home to the largest collection
of pre-Columbian gold artefacts anywhere in the world. Thousands of intricately crafted
treasures reveal the remarkable artistry of Colombia's Indigenous cultures and bring
the legendary story of El Dorado vividly to life. Our final visit takes us to the inspiring
social project Fundación Niños de los Andes, where we gain a meaningful insight into another
side of Colombian society. Together with the organisation's staff, we meet children facing
difficult life circumstances and learn about the foundation's important work in providing
education, care and new opportunities.

Today, we leave the modern world behind and set out with a small overnight bag to discover the
mystical world of the Kogi, one of South America's most fascinating Indigenous peoples and direct

Caribbean coast, we begin a 1.5-hour guided hike through lush tropical rainforest into the
remote Sierra Nevada de Santa Marta, the world's highest coastal mountain range. Accompanied
by our local guide, we follow jungle trails until we reach a secluded Kogi village, where time
seems to stand still. The Kogi regard themselves as the "Elder Brothers" of humanity and have
preserved their traditional way of life, spiritual beliefs and deep respect for nature for centuries.

and seeds they consume. As dawn breaks, hundreds of birds circle above the treetops before
descending to the clay wall, creating a breathtaking display of colour, sound and movement.
After this unforgettable encounter with the Amazon's wildlife, we begin our journey back into
the Ecuadorian Andes. Winding mountain roads lead us through dramatically changing landscapes,
past the beautiful Laguna San Pablo and beneath the imposing Imbabura Volcano.
Along the way, we visit a local family of traditional Andean instrument makers, where we learn
about their centuries-old craftsmanship and even create our own traditional Andean musical

a reminder that the islands are still shaped by powerful forces beneath the Earth's surface.

and continuing by bus to Baltra Airport, we begin our journey back to mainland Ecuador.
From here, we fly to Quito or Guayaquil, where we connect with our international flight back to Europe.
As our extraordinary adventure comes to an end, we carry home much more than photographs:

the incredible diversity and magic of South America up close. A journey of volcanoes,
rainforests, ancient cultures and unique wildlife—an adventure that will remain in our
